The 2017 Bikerboyz Blocko was kick started with a smooth ride led by NNR and ushered by BOS, OTR and Ghost Ryderz. Thanks to a well planned ride by the crews, the ride went off without a hitch. This year a pack of 300+ bikes were escorted by a pack of motorcycle police to get out of Yorkdale Shopping Centre and onto the highway. The ride proceeded west on highway 401, North onto highway 400, exiting on highway 7 moving east and finally arriving at Improve Canada. It has to be noted that the 300+ bikes and cars took up a single lane the whole way down the highway showboating formation and control. Included in the pack were Lamborghinis, GTRs, Slingshots and other notable exotic vehicles.
The venue, located at 7250 Keele Street in Vaughan, was in the parking lot of Improve Canada a 320,000 sq.ft building home to the largest home improvement mall in Canada. This event brings out top names in motorsports giving people direct access to all the gear, apparel, and mechanical advice anyone could ask for. Blocko was filled with music, food, raffles and entertainment for a visually stimulating, action packed day. At the stunt show the smell of freshly burned rubber will be sure to hit your nose. If that alone had not been enough to grab your attention, you would have surely been dazzled by the stunts these guys are capable of doing with their motorcycles. This year’s showstopper was the young Gage Sutton traveling all the way from Shelbyville, Indiana. The 13 year old rocked the stunt show on his Grom leaving the the eager crowd super impressed. The option to hop on the wheelie machine was also available for those who wanted a safe opportunity to get a taste of what it is like to wheelie without all of the risk involved.
The day of the event turned out to be full of clear sunny skies that were sure to make the crowd work up a large appetite. There were many food options and some popular Toronto Food Trucks including “The Gourmet Guyz” serving French fries, burgers and tacos, and “El Callejon Del Taco” serving Mexican style Tacos where the hints of lime, cilantro, green onions, tomatoes and marinades are perfectly infused in their meats. Jerk chicken and roasted corn options were also available. Lastly there was an Ice cream truck there to keep everyone cool and satisfied.
Every year this event gets bigger and better. The motorcycle scene in the GTA is definitely booming! In the past we have witnessed vacation giveaways, motorcycle giveaways, awards for various categories of bikes, cars, and clubs and this years event followed in the same fashion.
