Beyond Our Streets Riding Club (BOSrc) had the privilege of leading a ride through a beautiful scenic route on the way to a a nice beach side day full of music, food, beautiful weather, and riders from all over the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).
The ride started north of Brampton on highway 10 and continued to River Rd just East of Shelburne Ontario. For riders wanting to indulge in some technical riding, full of twisties and sweeping curves this can be a chicken strip, scrubbing ride! Simply follow highway 10 north in Brampton, past Highway 89 where the road then turns into Prince of Wales Rd until you come to a dead end just North of Shelburne. Make the right turn onto River Road and enjoy. Many club riders and solo riders participated on this ride and beach day. River Road is a small part of the Hockley Valley Road series, that can take riders on a 2 hour adventure on similar style twists.
This year BOSrc decide to venture north to Wasaga Beach in place of the usual inner city scenery. The focus was to concentrate on their family oriented club feel and what better way to do this than to bring family and friends with the crew to a stress free environment. The destination in Wasaga was the National Park grounds at Beach 3. Clear sunny skies set the tone for the entire day. As Jamaican style food is popular in the GTA, BOSrc made sure to have the barbecue flaming with perfectly juicy jerk chicken. If Jerk chicken was not your style there was an option for Curry chicken as well as fish, both equally as appetizing. Rice along with options for; corn, salads and deserts were all available for the families at hand.
If being steps away from the beach were not enough to entertain, there were also a few cool life size games that the children definitely loved playing. Some of BOSrc members dedicated spare time to build life size Jenga and a life size Connect Four game. There was also a dominoes station for the grown folks, which was a hit! Unfortunately due to the regulations of the park the life size beer pong was unable to be utilized however I’m sure there will be a future opportunity to play this fun adult game. To wrap up the entertainment DJ Too Hot To Handal brought the music and was playing a cool mix of island vibes that could not have felt any more fitting for the mood at the beach.
On this day Sunday Aug 27th 2017 BOSrc also celebrated their third year as a Riding Club and third year as a growing family. In the future Beyond Our Streets Riding Club will continue to have an event at the end of August as a season ending farewell to all who attend.
